Fall Friends - August Class

Here are the cards from my Fall Friends class. I was inspired by a gallery showing of a family member we went to in July and hope you enjoy the color combinations and simple and clean layouts.  The stamp sets and products are from the new Annual Catalog and On-line Exclusives.  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  Thanks for stopping by!

Card 1: Totoro Too

This card features Totoro and friend, little wood sprites that will make anyone smile.  The Totoro is made using the Bee Builder punch—his body is the bee with the stinger cut off, his ears are the small heart cut in half, his arms are the small heart, and his stomach is also the bee body placed on the bottom half with the excess trimmed off.  His eyes are ¼” circles punched from the standard office size punch.  Then the eyes are drawn in using a marker—wait to draw the eyes until you attach the whites to the bodies so that you can draw them closer to the center of the face.  The little sprite next to him is torn into an oval shape, I punched a 1 3/4” circle to tear around as a starting point, a smaller size such as 1 3/8" can be used too.  The flower was stamped in Petunia Pop ink and the stem was drawn using a Granny Apple Green blend.  The textured design on the Petunia Pop cardstock was made using the Eyelet embossing folder.  The combination reminded me of being in Japan.

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Set: Bee My Valentine (for flower and heart), Simply Said
  • Balmy Blue cardstock 8 ½ x 5 ½”
  • Petunia Pop cardstock 2 1/8 x 5 3/8”,
  • Basic Black cardstock 2 5/8 x 3 3/8”, punch 1 3/8” circle from center
  • Basic Beige cardstock 2 ½ x 3 ¼”,
  • Basic White cardstock to punch stomach and eyes
  • Azure Afternoon cardstock for body, ears and hands
  • Ink Pads: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, Petunia Pop Classic Ink
  • Stampin’ Write Basic Black Marker
  • Stampin’ Blends: Granny Apple Green, Smoky Slate
  • Bee Builder Punch
  • Handheld ¼” circle punch, 1 3/4” circle punch or similar size
  • Eyelet Embossing folder

Card 2: Smiling Pears

This card features a quartet of pears, one is smiling.  The face is from the Bee My Valentine Stamp set with cheeks made from Flirty Flamingo blends.  The pears are colored using Lemon Lolly and Lemon Lime Twist blends.  I liked the simple layout and thought of it as mini wall art.

20240824 4 pears card

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Sets: Penciled Pear, Bee My Valentine (face and heart), Hearts and Hugs (sentiment)
  • Lemon Lime Twist cardstock 8 ½ x 5 ½”
  • Flirty Flamingo cardstock 4 ¼ x 2 ¾”
  • Basic Black cardstock 2 5/8 x 3 5/8”
  • Basic White cardstock 2 ½ x 3 ½”
  • Adhesive-backed Textured Dots
  • Ink Pads: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, Flirty Flamingo Classic Ink
  • Stampin’ Blends: Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lolly, Lemon Lime Twist

Card 3: Pear Note

This card features a single pear from the Penciled Pear stamp set.  I kept it simple so that the penciled pear image would look like a mini painting.  What do you think?  I’m also loving the new Basic Beige cardstock, which looks like canvas and gives it a soft aged look.

20240824 pear card

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Set: Penciled Pear
  • Basic Beige cardstock 8 ½ x 5 ½”, 3 ¼ x 4 ½”
  • Pebbled Path cardstock 3 ½ x 4 ¾”

  • Stampin’ Blends: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight
  • Adhesive-backed Textured Dots

Card 4: Fresh Florals

This multi-purpose card can be for any occasion, the sample photo shows it as a sympathy card.  It can also be done in many color combinations.  One that I would like to try is Poppy Parade and Shaded Spruce or Old Olive.  The images are from the Translucent Florals stamp set and cut out using the coordinating dies.  The leaves and flower on the right are attached along the edge of the card which is trimmed to be an inch less than the base.

20240824 floral card

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Sets: Translucent Florals, Something Fancy
  • Fresh Freesia cardstock 7 ½ x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”

Here are the cards from my Summer Celebrations class. The stamp sets and products are from the new Annual Catalog and On-line Exclusives.  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  Thanks for stopping by!

Card 1: Book Bird

This card features a cute little bird with glasses standing on a stack of books.  The front of the card was scored at 1 ¼” and folded back to create a pocket to tuck in a small gift.  The images were stamped from the top down—first the bird, then the books, then mask the books to stamp the next stack of books underneath, and finally the sentiment.  Using a separate piece of white cardstock, the bird was stamped with glasses, then cut out (no need to cut out the legs) and layered over the original stamped image with dimensionals.
